She has 2 years 3 months of caregiving experience in Saudi Arabia.

2 years 3 months in Saudi Arabia caring for a 78-year-old lady with stroke (right-side weakness). The elderly weighed 50kg.

• Assisted to walk with a walker. Used a wheelchair when going outside.
• Monitored and charted her blood pressure.
• Assisted in Activities of Daily Living including showering (using a commode), toileting, dressing, feeding (breaking the food into smaller pieces), walking, getting into and out of bed.
• Slept in a separate bedroom. The elderly would use a bell to wake up her. Woke up 3 to 4 times at night to assist with toileting.
• Assisted in walking exercises, stretching and simple ROM exercises in the bed once a day. Massaged her at night.
• Sometimes the elderly was in a bad mood and refused to exercise. She would wait for her to be in a better mood before asking her to do so.
• Sometimes the elderly was moody, when Mary was still busy with a task, she would instruct Mary to do another task. Mary would acknowledge her patiently and follow her instructions accordingly.
• The elderly spoke only Arabic. Mary Grace picked up a little Arabic using youtube or the internet to be able to communicate with her.
• Prepared and served medications.
• Accompanied for medical appointments with her son.

From Oct 2022 until present, she is working as a part-time massage therapist.

From 2013 - 2016, she took care of her own 68-year-old grandmother with stroke. Cared for her once every month, when she went home for a break her work in Jakarta. During this time, she would take turn her mother in caring for her grandmother by herself.

• She was only able to smile or cry. When she cried, Madilyn will pat her to calm and soothe her.

• Performed housework. Took care of 3 other children ages 2.5, 8 and 12.

3 months in the Philippines caring for a bedbound 79-year-old lady with stroke. The elderly weighed 70-75kg.

• 12-hour rotating day / night shifts, 5 - 6 shifts a week.  Every shift there is one nurse together with one caregiver.
• Took care of her for 1 month in the hospital before going home.
• NGT feeding (first 3 weeks), PEG Tube feeding (subsequently), Tracheal care and suctioning, Nebulizer.
• Monitored and charted her blood pressure and blood glucose levels.
• Gave injections. Assisted with oxygen therapy.
• Indwelling urinary catheter care, performed manual evacuation.
• Basic wound care for bedsore at her back.
• Assisted in Activities of Daily Living including bedbath, changing diapers, dressing, feeding, turning & positioning. Assisted in ROM exercises.
